Now it’s time to decide how you’ll get to Almería and the Cabo de Gata–Níjar Natural Park. You can arrive by car, train, bus, boat, or plane.

From Almería’s bus and train station, the port, or the airport, we can optionally provide a private transfer to your accommodation, or, if you prefer, we can arrange a rental car for you. These services can also be offered in other cities and provinces upon request.

Car: This is the most affordable and convenient option, as you won’t depend on anyone and it allows you full autonomy and mobility during your stay.

Bus or Train: There are many connections that will take you to Almería’s intermodal station. From there, you can take a bus to San José.

Boat: Almería’s port is also an option, whether you're arriving on a commercial or private boat. If needed, we can arrange a berth for you in this or other ports in the province.

Plane: Almería’s international airport, Antonio de Torres, is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to reach the province.

Once you arrive at your accommodation, you’ll be welcomed by the staff. They will give you all the information you need for your stay, including details about breakfast and/or dinner arrangements. You should arrive the day before the start of the first stage.

That same day, your guide will visit you and give a briefing before dinner, where you’ll get a first-hand overview of the entire route as well as an introduction to the natural area. This will be the perfect moment to go over any last-minute questions.

Now the adventure truly begins. This is what a day on the trail looks like:

After a good breakfast, you’ll head out with your guide and the transport to the starting point of the stage. In your backpack, you’ll carry only the essentials for the hike. Midway through the hike, there will be a break for a picnic-style lunch, and, if needed, you’ll have access to a portable toilet. At that point, if anyone feels fatigued or suffers an injury, they can return to the accommodation with the transport.

At the end of the day, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and to rest before the next stage. Depending on your chosen services, afternoon or evening activities and additional services may be available upon request.

In case of need or emergency, Participants can be rescued at the designated checkpoints along the stages. This service can also be requested voluntarily for an additional fee.

Afterwards, we face the main ascent up to the plateau above Punta Javana, which gives access to the well-known cove of San Pedro, home to a natural freshwater spring. We then continue into one of the most exclusive areas of the natural park: the Torre de los Lobos, an extraordinary viewpoint perched 489 meters above sea level. Digital Disconnect & Natural Recharge

Switch off the noise to reconnect with yourself

At Camino del Cabo, we’d like to suggest something quite unusual these days:

“Switch off your mobile phone completely during your trip.”

We know it might sound a bit intimidating at first, but trust us, let yourself be guided. It’s all for a greater purpose waiting for you. Listen to the call of nature. And don’t worry, we offer plenty of alternatives and support, so it doesn’t have to feel like an all-or-nothing decision.

  • Carry your phone with you, but keep it switched off. You can always use it in case of an emergency.

  • Use your phone only once you’re back at the accommodation, 30–60 minutes before dinner. If you can’t resist, you may also use it for 15 minutes after meals.

  • Bring your camera, digital or analog. If you enjoy photography, don’t hesitate.
  • Analog photography service:
Each participant receives up to 10 printed photos included in the trip. Our guide will carry an analog camera, and at the end of the trip you’ll get to see all the photos. If you’d like more, you can purchase extra film.

  • Digital photography service:So you don’t have to say, “But I need my phone to take photos,” our guide will carry a FHD digital camera to take as many pictures as you need.

Feel again, without filters, without rush, without notifications.
